BUM

"BUM" is the story of Rand, an unemployed robot who must choose to engage in the life provided for him, or atrophy into the shadows of society.

Mars is the home of a robot civilization, rejected by humanity. They have lived on the red planet for nearly a century, housed in massive metropolises delineated as self-governing "colonies" by the robots' master factory-- Mother.

In world of beings able to learn and do at the click of a download, society is structured to create mobility, retention, and satisfaction. It is a perfect medley of consumer-capitalism and socialist welfare. Mother provides for her children and in turn they provide a richer and more dynamic world for her to bring new life into. Everyone is valuable. Everyone is valued.
